What’s happening at Channing you ask? I’ll tell you what isn’t...heat. Yeah, we have some for now but the furnace has to go and you know what that means , right? We need more funds. We are going to have a Fabulous, Fantastic Furnace Fund set up. No amount is too small. We seem to be going in the right direction with this variant of COVID so hopefully we will be back to church soon. It will be a week to week decision so consult the Channing Happenings on Wednesdays to find out the scoop. This also applies to the Ladies Lunch (Feb. 8th), Stitcher’s (Feb. 12th) and Game Night (Feb. 18th). This month is Black History Month and our theme is Good Trouble. Senator John Lewis coined that phrase with this tweet "Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble." Read the article on page four: Five Fascinating Facts About Black History Month. It’s very informative. Have a great month.
