It’s the start of the fiscal year, here at Channing. You know what that means? It’s skankin’ hot, that’s what that means. But of course, it is Oklahoma in July.
Also, Channing has a new Board of Directors. Well, not everyone is new but for this fiscal year, Liz Duncan and, yours truly, Eva Mahoney are Co-President of the Board. Wayne Leslie has stepped out of his Trustee position to become President-Elect. Michelle Madison and Jana Leslie will continue on as Trustees along with Rowan Anderson, and newcomer Jan McKinnon. Dave Pasto is staying on as Secretary and Kay Lentz, who does a wonderful job as Treasurer will continue on, too.
I’d like to say a special thank you to Rowan Anderson and Linda Gray for their work as Co-Presidents. Also to Kathleen Joslin who served her term as Trustee. Also thank you to all the others who are coming back in some or the same capacity to make up the Channing Board for fiscal 2025-2026.
Liz and I will do our best to keep things moving. We’re hoping for a calmer administration. With the roof already replaced, toilets recently updated and water damage being addressed in the RE room we shouldn’t see any major domestic issues. Yes, we want our time here to be nice and calm, with no major concerns we can’t fix with some good luck, a mini-pad and duct tape. Let’s see how that rings true.
This is the second time Liz and I have teamed up to tackle the role of Co-President. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather be Co-President with than Liz Duncan. She has great problem solving skills. She thinks like a manager without micromanaging or using buzz words like "synergy," "disruptor," and "paradigm shift" to sound smart. But then again, she got her MBA so long ago, those words weren’t even invented yet. She says she does have an open door policy but that’s really in reference to her Lexis when she comes to pick me up and, to be honest, I do have to open the door myself but it’s the least I can do.
See ya in church on Sunday!
